The Music Department at the AV福利社 is dedicated to providing our students with opportunities to explore and create music from a variety of genres, to contributing to the vibrancy of the university and to bringing focus to the excellence of the AV福利社 experience.

The Music Department provides opportunities for students to practice and perform in a variety of settings. Performing across campus is one way AV福利社 music students share their talents with the community.

2024 Summer Music Academy
The Music Department presented its annual AV福利社 Summer Music Academy during June 2024. Thirty-four students ages 11-18 came to campus for a week to make music and new friends. Working with AV福利社 faculty, string, piano and voice students all joined together to create a community of music, with a wonderful final concert featuring performances ranging from chamber ensembles to the Academy Chorale.

The Crowley Trio, consisting of AV福利社 Music Department Faculty members Marie-Thais Oliver (cello), Andrey Ponochevny (piano) and Kristin Van Cleve (violin), present performances as part of the 鈥淢usic in the Museum鈥� concert series. Held at the Museum of Biblical Arts in Dallas, these evenings of chamber music serve the dual purpose of promoting the music program at AV福利社 and the university as a whole to friends new and old. The trio presents two concerts in the fall and two in the spring. A huge thanks to Marilyn Walker for her support and vision in bringing this project to fruition!
The Marilyn Walker Endowment for Music [BROKEN LINK] was made possible by a generous gift from Mary Ritter, BA 鈥�85. Established to honor Marilyn Walker, longtime director of the Music Department at AV福利社, this fund will help to support the music program in its efforts to offer students the best possible music experience at AV福利社.
