French Departmental Scholarship

French Scholarship

Amount: $1,000 - $5,000 Per Year

Eligibility: High School Seniors and Transfer Students

Application available: August 1
Deadline to apply: December 1
Last day to interview (in person or online): December 15 

Students who have applied to AV福利社allas with an interest in studying French may compete for the award. 

Students are not necessarily required to major in French to receive or maintain the scholarship. Departmental scholarships are applied to tuition. A departmental scholarship may not be added on top of a full-tuition scholarship. Each student may apply for up to two departmental scholarship awards but may only receive one. To Apply for the French Department Scholarship, you must:

2. Complete the and submit at least two weeks prior to your campus visit and interview. Attach any supplemental material to the online application OR email to admissions@udallas.edu.

a. Submit a letter of recommendation from your high school or college French teacher.
b. Your high school transcript will be pulled from your general admission application.

3. Once you have completed your application you will be instructed on how to schedule an on-campus interview with the French Department. The French Scholarship competition consists of an oral interview that may take place virtually or during an on campus visit. Students enrolled in their third year of high school French or those who have completed the equivalent level of study are encouraged to apply. 

Renewability Criteria:

The French Department Scholarship is renewable annually for four consecutive school years, dependent upon the student's academic performance and the criteria stated below:

  1. Fulfill general scholarship renewal criteria.
  2. Declare and complete a concentration in French.
  3. Help organize at least one extracurricular activity per semester that is of interest to students of French.
